INTER SCHOOL SHORT FILM COMPETITION
The academic year 2018-19 is a very special year in the history of St. Paul School as we celebrate the Pearl Jubilee of its establishment. This year provides us with a perfect opportunity to reconnect it with people whom we know.
The opening ceremony was held on 13th October with an Interschool Short Film Competition hoping that it will inspire renewed confidence in the students to explore their potential and also to develop and boost the spirit of participation.
Various schools from the city like St. Xavier's School, St. Theresa's Girls School, St. Mary's Convent School, Carmel Convent School BHEL and Ratanpur, etc. participated in it. The programme started with the invocation of God, followed by the lighting of lamp. School Principal Rev. Fr. Sebi and Vice-Principal Rev. Fr. Peter welcomed the Chief Guest Mr. Ravi William, Story writer, Director of Films, magazines and television shows along with the special jury members Rev. Fr. James M. L.(Writer and director of dance dramas), Rev. Fr. Nitin(Director, Navchetna Communications) and Mr. Wilson Samuel (Video editor) for the ceremony.
The competition was based on different social themes like Dowry system, awareness about Helmet, increasing suicide among teenagers, grandparents – our real assets, etc. Few presentations were so beautiful that it made the audience speechless.
St. Paul School highly appreciated the Chief Guest Mr. Ravi William for his gracious presence. While addressing the gathering he said that the whole event was like a story telling and every group was able to transfer the right message and left an impression on everyone's mind. He also said that with changes of time one needs to change his thoughts as well and the whole event for him seemed to be like his own story when he started with his career. He also hoped that the students should have a successful career in Story writing and film making.
Towards the end of the event the prizes were distributed for the competition. The prizes were best editing for story titled 'You only live once' (St. Xavier's Sr. Sec.
