Life skills are for shaping the dexterity so that they cater for the fortitude of man. They refer to the skills you need to make the most out of life. They are usually associated with managing and living a better quality of life.
A two day workshop on 'Effective Life Skills' was held on 27 and 28 July 2018 in St. Paul Sr. Sec. School for the students of class XII.
The programme commenced with a prayer song invoking Lord's presence followed by lighting of the lamp. Fr. Justin, Provincial CMI Province Bhopal graced the occasion with his benevolent presence. The School Manager Rev. Fr. James, School Principal Rev. Fr. Sebi, Vice-Principals Rev. Fr. Peter and Ms. Rony Joy and Fr. Joby P., Secretary for Education were present for the occasion.
The purpose of the workshop was to equip the students to effectively manage the challenges of daily life, augmenting confidence, assertiveness and decision making.
In his opening speech Fr. Joby challenged the students on 'Development of soft skills'. He asserted that one should be bigger than one's fears". One can definitely change the way one takes it and respond to it.
Concurrent sessions on various skills were taken up by the senior secondary teachers.
Rev. Fr. Justin Akkara graced theclosing ceremony with his benign presence.
Fr. Justin appreciated the efforts of teachers as well as students. He emphasized that, "These life skills are important, as students are building their own home'. He exhorted that the students should learn to live their life with simplicity instead of making it complex.
Thereafter an open forum was conducted in which the students from each group posed their questions to the panelists regarding various aspects of life..
The programme culminated with the motivated song 'The hall of fame'. Students sang avidly along. Student Representative Mayank Tripathi expressed words of gratitude.
