The official ceremony of conferring titles and investing powers to the Junior Cabinet members of the school council was organized at the Investiture Ceremony in St. Paul Sr. Sec. Co-Ed School on 7th Aug'18.
The vigorous beats of the drums by the school band gave a ceremonial welcome to the eminent Chief Guest Captain Suryakant Babu Redekar. School Principal Rev. Fr. Sebi, School Vice-Principals Rev. Fr. Peter and Ms. Rony Joy, Section Coordinators Rev. Sr. Solly and Sr. Helen were present for the prestigious occasion. The lighting of the lamp marked the beginning of the event. The school choir sang the School Anthem with great vigor and voiced laced with pride and confidence.
This momentous day dawned, to bestow responsibilities on the deserving young talents of the school, to lead their school from the front with their commitment and competence.
The School Junior Council members were conferred upon with sashes and badges by the Chief Guest and the flags were handed over, which was a symbolic representation of handing over the responsibility to the newly appointed office bearers. The chief guest and the school Principal administered the oath of secrecy to the junior leaders.
The Chief Guest, Captain Suryakant Babu Redekar addressed the leaders by asking them to be good leaders, shouldering their responsibilities efficiently. He said that it is only through combined effects of every individual an institution can lay a solid foundation and move on the path of progress. He congratulated and admonished the torch bearers to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties.
The Chief Guest stressed on Green Revolution where every individual should make it a point to plant at least one sapling once in a year to have fresh and clean air to breath. He underscored the point that this would effectively counter the ill effects of pollution, waste disposal and unhealthy environment so as to make the mother earth prosperous. He promoted a green economy through Bio-diversity conservation, using organic products, implementing vertical gardening, etc. Finally he said that a change in mindset of people towards environmental awareness will lead to healthy posterity.
Adding to it, Ms. Kiran Sharma a team member from 'Sakaratmak Soch' implored the students to grow a sapling in this rainy season by considering it as their personal responsibility.
During the ceremony the school also awarded the academic achievers of classes Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth with trophies and certificates. Along with them, students who secured 100% attendance were also felicitated. A dance rendition by the school dance troop added colour and vibrancy to the event.
Towards the end The Junior School President Shubh Ghiya delivered his thanksgiving speech promising to abide by the qualities of a true leader and keeping the mantle of St. Paul School flying high.
Tuned to the band display, everyone joined the National Anthem.
